Today, Sunday, April 10, 2022, the Faculty of Arts, in cooperation with the Committee for Combating Terrorism and Extremism at Mansoura University, organized a cultural symposium in the conference hall of the Faculty of Arts entitled (Renouncing violence and reconciliation with the other, the invitation of the heavenly religions). The former Vice Dean of the Faculty of Arts for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs.
Headed by Prof. Dr. Sherif Khater - Dean of the Faculty of Law and the organization of Mrs. Suhair Waheed - Vice Dean of the Faculty of Arts for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs. And the coordination of Prof. Dr. Tamer Mohamed Saleh - Professor and Head of the Department of Criminal Law and Vice-Chairman of the Committee for Combating Terrorism and Extremism at the university, and in implementation of the directives of His Excellency President / Mr. Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi - the President of the Republic on combating abnormal concepts and ideas and confronting extremist ideology and terrorism in Egypt, and in the interest of the University to Increasing the awareness of university youth and the weight of their personal faculties and improving their ideas.
The symposium started with the speech of Prof. Dr. Suhair Waheed, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, during which she explained the strategic importance of confronting violence and extremism in all its forms and the negative impact of those phenomena that harm the unity of society.
Then, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Al-Jaidi, Dean of the College, gave his speech, in which he expressed the welcome of the College of Arts and the University’s Anti-Terrorism and Extremism Committee to all attendees; He also clarified that all monotheistic religions renounce violence and encourage tolerance and reconciliation. all its sects.
Then Prof. Dr. Mukhtar Attia gave his speech, during which he spoke about the renunciation of violence and reconciliation with the other, as he made it clear that all heavenly religions came in explicit texts to respect the other, renounce violence and criminalize abuse in all its forms, as he presented his sovereignty to some texts contained in the Torah and the Bible that urge I have to accept and respect the other and hate violence, then he presented his sovereignty to the tolerant Islamic law, which came to spread the spirit of tolerance and respect for the owners of other religions, as he presented some transactions in the honorable Sunnah of the Prophet urging tolerance, renunciation of violence and respect for other religions.
● At the end of the meeting, the door for discussion and dialogue was opened with all students, and their inquiries were listened to and answered.
■ Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Al-Jaidi - Dean of the College also presented the college shield to Mr. Prof. Mokhtar Attia and Mr. Dr. Tamer Saleh in appreciation of their efforts and active participation in order to enrich the knowledge of college and university students; His Excellency also thanked the Student Welfare Department at the college, led by Mr. Ahmed Al-Ashry and Mr. Abdul Rahman Al-Desouki, for their active participation in organizing the symposium’s activities in coordination with Ms. Dr. Dalia Raslan, the student activities coordinator at the college and the executive director of the specialized program for Italian language and literature
■ The symposium was attended by a group of university faculty members: Prof. Dr. Tamer Mohamed Saleh - Professor and Head of the Criminal Law Department and Vice-Chairman of the University's Anti-Terrorism and Extremism Committee. Prof. Dr. Mosad Salama - Vice Dean of the Faculty of Arts for Graduate Studies and Research, Mr. Prof. Wael El-Sayed El-Borai - Vice Dean of the Faculty of Arts for Education and Student Affairs, Mr. Prof. Ibrahim Barakat - Professor of Grammar and Morphology at the Faculty of Arts, and Mr. Prof. Shaaban Arafat - Professor of Arabic literature, Faculty of Arts.
